Dear Guardian,

Why your unquestioning support for the Warren Commission findings? “Neither the Warren Commission nor a congressional select committee found any evidence of a plot from extremist rightwing groups or the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)” Dallas lives with JFK legacy — but hate that spawned assassination simmers by David Smith (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/nov/18/jfk-assassination-dallas-legacy-political-conspiracy-extremism). The Warren Commission has been widely, and justly, discredited. JFK said he was going to end the CIA so they put an end to him first. The truth is there, staring you in the face, but you won’t question the government propaganda.

Step back for a moment and look at the big picture. The US is the world’s largest arms exporter. The military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us against took over the government with JFK’s death. Since then, we have had war after war and an ever-increasing Pentagon budget. What happened to the “peace dividend”? Remind me again why we needed to invade Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. The real news is the American war machine and its real world consequences. We are seeing it play out in Syria, Ukraine and Israel right now. You are missing the real news. The Pentagon is not subject to EPA regulations and is the world’s biggest polluter. Why don’t you talk about that if you’re concerned about climate change?
